A Psalm 148 prayer

Gracious God, all of the creation praises your name.
Angels, shining stars, sun and moon – everything from the depths of the oceans to the highest heavens join the unending song, for you commanded, and they were created.
Let everything praise your name, for your name alone is exalted; your glory is above heaven and earth.
Sovereign God, as your Son entered Jerusalem to proclaim the reign of justice and mercy that you have established in the world, the disciples declared, “Blessed is the King who comes in the Name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Almighty God, some in the crowd that day told Jesus to make his followers be quiet, but he responded that if they were silent, the stones would cry out.
Indeed, all of creation declares your glory, lifting up unending praise that you allow mortals to discern in the beauty of the changing of the seasons, the blooming of flowers, sunshiny days and cool, crisp nights. And we join the creation in that praise with the knowledge that even in the dead of winter, when all is cold and dark, you are with us still.
Praise the LORD from the earth, fire and hail, snow and frost, stormy wind fulfilling his command!
Lord God, who has numbered the stars, give strength and power to those who share your message of reconciliation throughout the world. May peace overcome conflict, love wipe out hate, friendship overcome animosity. Feed your hungry children and lift up those who are suffering mentally, physically and spiritually. Make us to be good stewards of your creation. O Lord, let your kingdom come, and let it begin with each of us.
Gracious God, give your people a spirit so overwhelming that everyone will see you in our words and actions, and they will know we are Christians by our love, just as they did the first believers. Guide and guard this country, bless this community, and teach us all how to serve each other according to your call – however and whenever you call and at whatever the cost, remembering always the price that Jesus paid for us.
Lord of Hosts, mold us that we are conformed to your image, so that the creature will reflect the light of the creator on all that you have made.
Wild animals and all cattle, creeping things and flying birds!
Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth!
Young men and women alike, old and young together!
Let us all praise your name LORD, for your name alone is exalted; your glory is above earth and heaven.
